WHAT ELSE ANTWERP_
In Antwerp we gathered 24 creatives from 9 European countries, for two workshops, a conference with 5 speakers, meetings and discussions with creatives in Antwerp, studio-visits, a portfolio review and many hours of networking and exploring.
Watch the video „A NEW FLAG FOR EUROPE“ produced by our media partner Canal 180 from Porto, to get a feeling for the week and to learn about the event:
In Antwerp we created a workshop together with Erik Kessels on the city identity of Antwerp and spent one day creating different identities. One identity was even recognized by the Foto-museum in Antwerp and will be exhibited in Antwerp to include the public in our creative gathering.
A second workshop was excecuted by the Munich based agency EIGHTYDOTS together with Lennart Pagel and Joel Nyström, two artists invited to What Else Antwerp. The task in this workshop for all the particiants was to create new concepts for an actual client of the agency, which they were able to pitch to the client afterwards.
We had five different speakers (Mary Kibirige and Joel Nyström from Sweden, Eduardo Aires from Portugal, Lennart Pagel and Thomas Mandl our founder from Germany) talking about their creative processes and work in a co-working space in Antwerp open for local creatives as well. Through this conference we were able to bring inspiration and new thoughts to the creative scene in Antwerp.
MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS:
We met up with Geert Bruloot, the father of the famous „Antwerp Six“, David Flamee from the Fashion Museum to discuss the current situation in fashion and the creative processes in the fashion industry.

each participant and artist was able to share their creative work and to discuss it with the group in order to develop fresh ideas and new perspectives.
